John Hoyos, rotojunkie.com

hoyosJohn Hoyos has been a part of RotoJunkie since February of 2000 when he joined the writing staff to do a beat column for the NL. He has been a member of the BullPen message boards on RotoJunkie since 1999. For the past two years, John has been playing an active role in the backroom management of RotoJunkie, preferring to come out of hiding to make appearances in the BullPen and at fantasy drafts when needed.

His first fantasy forays were in local leagues of football (1993) and baseball (1995). He is still best remembered for “wisely” using a second round pick on one Royce Clayton in 1998, insisting he would have a breakout year. John has been a proud Tout Wars participant since 2004, doing the NL league for 3 years and the Mixed League since its inception in 2005. His best finish was second place in the 2006 Mixed League and he nearly pulled off the Labadini Plan at the 2005 NL auction (save $2 spent on one pitcher). He hopes to one day defeat the mighty Schechter!

In the non-fantasy-sports world, John puts his BA from Rowan University and MBA from Seton Hall to good use as a craft beer salesman. He’s responsible for providing the northern Jersey Shore with the best beer money can buy. He’s a fan of the Yankees and Nationals franchises (and is insisting that Stan Kasten hire him to replace Jim Bowden). John also hopes to live to see the Rangers win a second Stanley Cup in his lifetime. He and his wife of five years have a 4-year-old mutt and a 2-year-old daughter.
