Larry Schechter was born and raised in Schenectady, NY. When he left to attend Boston University, he vowed never to return. However, after sixteen years in Boston, he moved back to the Schenectady area and now lives in Rexford, NY (between Albany and Saratoga). Larry is the founder of a successful financial services company.

At age 12, he hit .083 for his AAA little league team. In 1992, at age 33, he began playing fantasy baseball. Larry is the only two-time winner of the CDM Sports national salary cap challenge, having beaten out 7,500 competitors in 2002 and 6,000 in 2005. He is also a five-time winner of Tout Wars and a member of the USA Today sponsored League of Alternative Baseball Reality (LABR).

In his upcoming book, Winning Fantasy Baseball, Larry discloses all of his strategy. The book is designed for everyone from beginners through experienced players. It is full of common sense, easy to use strategies that will show you how to win at fantasy baseball. Everything you need to know about projecting player stats, converting those stats into a specific value, strategy for mono-league and mixed auctions, snake drafts, salary cap, keeper leagues and in-season management. Although the book is about fantasy baseball, many concepts also apply to fantasy football and other fantasy sports.

Winning Fantasy Baseball will be available in bookstores everywhere January, 2014. For more information, visit www.winningfantasybaseballthebook.com.

Larry is now 54, married to a woman who puts up with his fantasy baseball obsession because he bribes her with jewelry, and has two kids. His son, Jared, age 14, also plays fantasy baseball and football. His daughter Talia, age 17, took a fantasy baseball elective course in 5th grade.

Despite being pathetic as a ball player, Larry is a decent golfer, with a 7 handicap. He’s also a die-hard Red Sox fan. However, he’ll buy a Yankee in a second if it’ll help his fantasy team.
