Tout Table: Ranking Top Outfielders

Rest of season, standard 5×5, please rank the following outfielders: Fernando Tatis, Julio Rodriguez, Jackson Chourio, James Wood and Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Derek Carty (THE BAT X, @DerekCarty, @derekcarty.bsky.social): Tatis, J-Rod, PCA, Wood, Chourio

Justin Mason (Friends With Fantasy Benefits, @JustinMasonFWFB): Tatis, Wood, Chourio, PCA, J-Rod

Scott Chu (Pitcher List, @ifthechufits, scottchu.pitcherlist.com): Wood, Tatis, PCA, Chourio, J-Rod. They are all ranked in my top 26, and none more than 7 spots apart

Patrick Davitt (BaseballHQ, @patrickdavitt): Tatis, PCA, Wood, J-Rod, Chourio. But really you could put them in a bag like Scrabble tiles and draw them out.

CJ Kaltenbach (Fantasy Guru, @TheSeigeDFS): Tatis, PCA, Wood, Chourio, J-Rod; All elite but J-Rod’s home park moved him to the bottom but would be happy with any of these guys

Fred Zinkie (Yahoo/Rotowire, @FredZinkieMLB): Tatis, Wood, PCA, Chourio, J-Rod

D.J. Short (NBC Sports/Rotoworld, @djshort, @djshort.bsky.social): Tatis, PCA, Wood, J-Rod, Chourio – Very fun to think about; Chourio hasn’t progressed as hoped this year, J-Rod doesn’t have the power of Wood or the speed of PCA.

Eric Samulski (Rotoballer, @SamskiNYC): Tatis, Wood, PCA, Chourio, Rodriguez – Chourio had a huge second half last year, so maybe that’s in the cards this year. Teams have clearly discovered that if you keep attacking J-Rod on the fringes of the strike zone, he’ll still offer and get himself out with weak contact or whiffs. Until he adjusts, he’s last on this list for me

Tristan H. Cockcroft (ESPN, @SultanofStat): Tatis, PCA, J-Rod, Wood, Chourio. I’ve got the middle three with razor-thin valuation margins, and frankly, all five are pretty close. It’s tough to fade PCA when he’s such a good source of steals.

Mike Gianella (Baseball Prospectus): J-Rod, Tatis, PCA, Wood, Chourio. They’re all between 5-10 in the OF for me, so this isn’t exactly a wide rankings spread…

Kelly Kirby (FantasyPros, @thewonkypenguin, @thewonkypenguin.bsky.social): Wood, Tatis, PCA, J-Rod, Chourio — Even as a Cubs fan, it is hard to believe in PCA continuing what he’s doing, but I’ve said that all year. Still can’t put him above Wood or Tatis, though

Doug Dennis (BaseballHQ, Doug Dennis): Tatis, PCA, J-Rod, Wood, Chourio. Love them all.

Adam Ronis (Fantasy Life, @adamronis, @adamronis.bsky.social): Tatis, Wood, PCA, J-Rod, Chourio

Dave Adler (Baseball HQ, @daveadler01): Tatis, J-Rod, PCA, Wood, Chourio. Pretty similar projections from here on out. Wood’s BABIP is a bit high, so expect his BA to come down a bit. Otherwise, all are good contributors in all categories.

Corbin Young (BaseballHQ, Rotoballer, @corbin_young21): Tatis, PCA, Wood, Chourio, Julio. Tatis, PCA, Wood, and Chourio have been solid producers with the tools and skills to support the output. Julio I’m most worried about, mainly because of the power skill declines.

Ryan Boyer (Rotowire, Baseball Prospectus, @RyanPBoyer): Tatis, Wood, PCA, J-Rod, Chourio

Chris Torres (Pitcher List, Fantasy Pros, @TorresTakes): Tatis, J-Rod, PCA, Wood, Chourio.

Michael Govier (Pallazzo Podcast, @mjgovier): Wood, Chourio, Tatis. J-Rod, PCA

Phil Hertz (Baseball HQ, @prhz50): Tatis, Chourio, Wood, PCA, Rodriquez

Zach Steinhorn (Steinhorn’s Universe on Substack, @zachsteinhorn): Wood, Tatis, PCA, Chourio, Rodriguez.

Andy Andres (BaseballHQ, @sabermetrics101): Tatis, Wood, JRod, PCA, Chourio

Sky Dombroske (Fantistics Insider Baseball, @SkyDombroske): Tatis, Wood, , PCA, Chourio, Julio. I suppose Julio could turn it back on at anytime, but we’re at 225 G of some combination of decline and bad luck now.

Erik Halterman (Rotowire, @erik_halterman): Tatis, Wood, Rodriguez, Chourio, with PCA in some sort of quantum superposition occupying all five spots at once. I’m uncomfortable ranking a guy with a .299 OBP (and a .208 OBP against lefties!) as high as he perhaps deserves to go, but you could talk me into ranking him third in this group.

Anthony Aniano (RotoBaller/SiriusXM Fantasy, @AanianoFantasy): Tatis, PCA, Wood, Chourio and Julio. To be honest it was tough not making PCA number 1.

Todd here, I come up with the questions and while this may seem like a throwaway question, there is method to my madness. Rotowire subscribers can read about it in an upcoming Z Files. For those wondering…

Player No. 1 No. 2 No. 3 No. 4 No. 5 Average

PCA 0 7 12 3 2 3
