Doubt Wars NL: The Final Standings!

OY! The original post screwed up the Tout Wars draft data. The chart below is corrected and represents the official final standings.

Tristan Cockcroft, for the second year in a row, wins the race among Touts in Doubt Wars, but didn’t finish with the best draft day roster when only Tout Wars teams are considered.

The 3repeaters and Rotorooters finished well ahead of the rest of the civilian pack.

Here are the final results (actual Tout Wars teams have a gray background):

Here’s a look at the 3peaters roster (click to enlarge):

Notably, Derek Carty’s Tout Wars team finished better than his Doubt Wars team, while Rotoman’s Doubt Wars team finished better than his Tout Wars team (no doubt because he didn’t take Edwin Jackson in Doubt).

The rest of the Doubt Wars results, plus complete standings details, will come soon.

Tout Wars Records Fall

In Tout Mixed Draft, which is in only its second year, Perry Van Hook set a new record for RBI (987), impressive in a down year. Perry also set a new record for Stolen Bases, with 211. Scott Engel set new records for Strikeouts (1448) and WHIP (1.131), while champ Tim McLeod set a record for the lowest ERA (3.166).

In Tout Mixed Auction, champ Derek Van Riper set a new record for OBP, with 3.523, and Strikeouts, with 1439. Ray Guilfoyle set records for ERA (2.696) and WHIP (1.106), and Ray Flowers rounded out the rewriting of the pitching record books with a record for Saves, with 135.

in Tout NL, Steve Gardner established the first record for On Base Percentage, with a .3386 record. Phil Hertz set a new record low for WHIP, with 1.131.

In Tout AL, Glenn Colton and Rick Wolf’s team set a new record for high points on the season, with 106, as well as the first On Base Percentage record (.3334), and new marks for ERA (2.96) and WHIP (1.161).

Tout Wars Mixed Auction: Crowns Derek Van Riper Champ

Derek Van Riper and Fred Zinkie and a handful of others battled through August and the first two weeks of September, but then Van Riper took a big step forward and won the Tout Wars Mixed Auction Crown.

Three time champ Fred Zinkie finished a distant second.

More to come.

Tout Wars Mixed Draft Final: Tim McLeod the Winner!

The official results are not official until the official stats update tomorrow morning, but the unofficial results are that Tim McLeod prevailed, moving from a Friday tie to a 111.5 to 109 victory over Perry Van Hook at season’s end.

We’ll have more when the results are official!

Tout Wars Mixed Draft Pennant Update!

Entering Monday’s action, or in other words, after 25 weeks of play, the Tout Wars Mixed Draft League pennant race was deadlocked. Both Perry Van Hook and Tim McLeod had 111 points each.

Since then, Perry has added a point, breaking out of a three way tie in Saves, and stands today at 112.

Tim McLeod, on the other hand, has seen his elite 57 point (out of 75) pitching staff take a beating. Felix Hernandez and James Paxton were creamed this week, while Madison Bumgarner was simply ineffectual. The bad performances were damaging psychically, but McLeod’s categorical leads were big enough to absorb the flood of earned runs and baserunners.

Going into Wednesday’s games he stands at 110.5, having gained half a point in wins (thank you Derek Holland) and lost a point in homers.

These two should be battling all week.
